FAQs

Is Invisalign suitable for all ages?

Invisalign treatment is suitable for both teenagers and adults. It’s a flexible treatment option designed to correct a wide range of orthodontic issues, regardless of age.

For teenagers, there’s even a version called Invisalign Teen, which includes features like wear indicators and room for growing teeth. Adults often choose Invisalign for its discreet appearance and removable design, which fits easily into work and social lifestyles.

The best way to find out if Invisalign is right for you or your child is through a personalised consultation at our clinic.

How often do I need to change my aligners?

In most cases, you’ll need to change to a new set of Invisalign aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by our dentist. Each set is designed to gradually move your teeth closer to their ideal position.

To stay on track, it’s important to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, only removing them for eating, drinking (except water), and cleaning. Your treatment plan is customised, so your exact schedule may vary slightly depending on your specific needs.

Will I need to visit the dentist frequently during treatment?

With Invisalign, you won’t need to visit the dentist as often as you might with traditional braces. Most patients have check-up appointments every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure everything is progressing as planned and to receive their next sets of aligners.

These appointments are usually quick and straightforward, with no adjustments or tightening needed — just a chance to monitor your progress and make any necessary tweaks to your treatment plan.

Is Invisalign painful?

Invisalign is generally more comfortable than traditional braces, but you may experience mild pressure or tenderness when you start a new set of aligners. This is a good sign — it means your teeth are gradually shifting into position.

Any discomfort is usually temporary and tends to settle within the first few days of wearing a new aligner. Most patients find the adjustment period very manageable and don’t require pain relief.

If you ever experience unusual or prolonged discomfort, our team is always here to help.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?

You may notice a slight lisp or change in your speech when you first start wearing Invisalign aligners. This is completely normal and usually temporary.

Most people adjust within a few days as their tongue and mouth get used to the aligners. Practising speaking out loud can help speed up this adjustment period. Once you’re used to them, Invisalign has little to no impact on your speech in daily life.
